Analyze the four phases of nutrient absorption and how they relate to different etiologies and categories of malabsorption syndromes.
Correlate the pathogenesis and clinical features of celiac disease, including its complications, with characteristic histopathologic changes in the small intestine and laboratory diagnostics.
Identify different variants of colonic adenocarcinomas and recognize the principles of grading and staging of colorectal cancer.
Recognize the main categories of neoplastic polyps and their malignant potential.
Outline the genetic mutations and assess the functional roles of the mutated genes in oncogenesis (familial and sporadic), including the main polyposis syndromes.
