Introduction

The field of bioinformatics consists of a computational approach to biomedical information management and analysis. As one of the premier web sites for biomedical and bioinformatics research, the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) hosts many useful databases.

There are several methods for accessing the NCBI databases and the tutorials on this site will explore various access methods and tips for effective searching.
