This guide highlights sources that may be helpful in solving common patient care problems. The resources listed are authoritative, and experience has shown them to be useful. However, they cannot answer all questions and do not comprise all the library’s resources on the topics presented. Consult a Reference librarian for additional resources.
Step 1: What do you want to know?
- It is helpful to state your information needs in a question or sentence.
- Background questions will typically contain "who, what, when, where, why, how".
- Foreground questions will follow the PICO format:
P - patient or problem
I - intervention
C - comparison (if applicable)
O - outcome
